Eritrean-Swedish journalist and playwright Dawit Isaak was an active and far-sighted presence on the arts and media scene in Eritrea.  He was arrested in a crackdown on the media and opposition that occurred in September 2001, and has been in prison since this time, without charge or trial. The last time he was heard from was in 2005, and his present location is unknown. He wrote poems, short stories, newspaper articles and plays. He worked closely with Fessehaye Yohannes, who was also imprisoned in 2001, and who died in jail in 2007. Together they created the Children’s theatre group SEWIT and the acrobat group Circus Eritrea.

Poor Dawit should have stayed in peaceful Stockholm – Sweden with his other family.
The most saddest thing about it all is that his closest family have completely reject and forgotten him altogether. This is what is called two deaths when you’ve unjustly been rejected and forgotten by your closest family and friends. I doubt if he is still alive but I blame the Swedish authorities.

Should he knew that he was going to a country which is being ruled by a mafia regime, his choice might be different but as thousands of Eritreans who returned home after independence Dawit went to participate in building the human of his country.

May the great creator save his life and soul.

He has not been forgotten by his family or friends as u think off. No one can forget what happened and is happening to him or our heros. We are at war with pfdj gangs and their junks for that very reason- to restore our dignity, which is also their dignity. The beasts and monkeys know that and will do everything to escape justice including calling us economic migrants. They know their days are counted.

Is this sympathy or sarcasm? toying with your brothers demise,HGDEF’s signature character.

      Yes indeed Keren,
If Dawit was a white Swedish man the the Sweden government would have paid any money to
Higdefs to have him released and freed. They could have forced Higdefs to release him a lot earlier as well especially if Dawit’s family had put pressure and followed up his case strongly. But he was let down by his family and by the government of Sweden without any doubt. Ignore some of the usual Assenna useless talkatives who have nothing better to contribute.
Better late than never, his so-called family and friends could still put pressure on the government of Sweden to find out exactly what had happened to our brother Dawit Isaak.

correction: please read as ‘ignore the same old Assena’s useless talkatives’ like K.Tewolde and wedi Saho snake operating as Christian Alem & Sol. He must really hate his Saho Muslim names to always choose our names.
Indeed, we all suggest that he sticks to his nomad saHab gimel of ali, abdu, aTa and Abdurobo nicks!! Someone has to remind him that he is not that smart to fool us with his muslim gimmicks all the time! Why is he allowed to get away with cheap acts??
