I am really concerned about the situation in Eritrea.

A Very gloomy picture and a disturbing scenario of what happened on Jan 21st has been trickling out of Eritrea. Of course no one knows for sure.

According to people who just returned from Eritrea some of the stories about Forto are really disturbing.

It is said that few months back following an incursion by the Ethiopian forces deep into Eritrean territories the president summoned his top generals to an emergency meeting in which he berated them for failing to respond.

The generals argued that they thought it was wise and prudent not respond to avoid a full-scale war citing the EDF’s ill-preparation for a war with Ethiopia at the time.

The man got mad and spoke to them with utter contempt and denigration.

They also pointed out to him that they had been denied the professional and ethical respect they deserved and that the president had always isolated them and bypassed them when it came to crucial military decisions.

They cited the President/Manjos’s insistence on the impractical decision to proceed with the arming of civilians as a reserve force (ekoor-saraweet).

That was how things stood prior to the Forto movement.

Now back to the Forto movement.

It looks like the Forto movement was planned at the highest military echelon involving mainly Sebhat, Filpos and Taweel.

But they had a different agenda to that of the lower rank officials. All the generals wanted was a reinstatement of their pride and to be treated with due respect and be given a full authority over the running of the military establishment and not interfered with by the president.

It is believed that they were never in favour of a wholesome change and that they stood at the same distance from the implementation of the constitution as that of the president. That is they would be answerable to a lot of wrongdoings same as Isaias. They are not angles.

It was a show of muscle by the general’s and to extract maximum concessions from Isaias.

So they sent to Forto few lower ranks who had had a genuine intention for real changes but when they got there the top generals felt that their message has got across to the president and so asked poor colonels to call it off.

Of course Isaias will never forgive those generals and will hunt them down one by one sooner or later unless they take a real action now.

In order to have changes in Eritrea what mandatory points to be considered are:
    1. We have to have an excusse to those who suffers by some evil Eritrean right after independence(specially Ethiopians who were resided in Eritrea) just for the sake of GOD, Not for the sake of yohana and banana and the fake freedom at all.
    2. We have to avoid any blame to weyane, external and Ethiopia. we have to admit the main problem is internal issue. Which creates the leaders for the last 50 years.
    3. We have appreciate and take experience of tolerance policy at all, in my assumption with the prevalnce of hidden issues in the heart of Ertreans I prefer to have FEDERAL system of governance, Because we know each other in order to resolve the case of Awraja, Jahad, etc which was created by Jebha, Alwahda and Shabia was not clear for the society at large
    4. we have to adopt our constitution by the approval of the society.
    5. we have to start normalization internal with all members of the society and also with opposition.
    5. The agreement with Ethiopian and Djibouti, Yemen international communities a is not unavoidable due the prevalence of blood relation, existing for the several years with the same system of governance and culture and economic relation. It is very difficult to live without them in island. We have to take the best and reject the worst thing thinking the tolerance specially with Ethiopian,
    6. the first and the most important thing is we have to respect the dignity of human-being from wherever.
