The Orthodox church in diaspora is speaking up on behalf of the voiceless. This is commendable. The church has many young leaders who are very outspoken. One of them is the Atlanta priest Qeshi Ghebremichale. He is one of the best preachers who practices what he preaches.
On October 6, ATlanta had a candle vigil at the community center in the presence of church leaders from Orthodox, Catholic and Pentecostal church. Qeshi Ghebremichael delivered a very moving message. He encouraged all of us to speak up.
I was disappointed that Qeshi Weldeyesus and Qeshi Huruy were not present. Both these priests seem to side with the evil regime in Asmara. How can they tell me not to kill when they side with the killers. How can they tell me not to still when they side with the thieves. I do not understand how these two priests read their Bible.
As for Qeshi Ghebremichael of Atlanta, Qeshi Athanthius of Cincinnatti and the Catholic Father of Manchester have really delivered a very good message and they have openly critisized the actions of the evil regime in Asmara. I hope other church leaders will follow their foot steps.
