Kibrom is an Eritrean refugee who came  and resettle in the city of Philadelphia, his two kids Michael, Yordanos and his sister Akberet, age 7, 12 and 25 respectively, were all killed recently while attempting to cross the border from Eritrea to Ethiopia. Their bodies were reportedly scavenged by wild animals. They were the children of Kibrom Frezghi Haile who came to the United States a couple of years ago as a refugee, and is left now in deep sorrow and sadness.

Kibrom settled in the Philadelphia area. He had left his children behind in Eritrea and was hopeful one day to see his family again, but life doesn’t always go as we would wish, and instead this morning, April 21, 2014, he learned that the worst tragedy possible had happened to his family. Kibrom is a hard working person, his daily dream was that one day his family would join him and his kids would have a better future.

Please let’s take a moment and pray for the sake of our brothers and sisters who are dealing with so many tragedies.

Denden: Are you stupid or you are trying to create confusion? If the govt wasn’t involved, we would have seen many smugglers arrested. The kidnappers were so relaxed they were using a bank accounts in Eritrea to receive ransom payouts. So basically PFDJ and its security apparatus knows those who had been carrying out transactions, but they made no arrest. Why? because the top dogs were directly involved in this thread. You can’t fool no one by shifting blame to others. Isayas wants to generals to be dirty because that is how he can guarantee their obedience. They know when he is gone they will face justice so they protect each other. Why do you think Sibhat stopped the mutiny? Because he is guilty of crimes…

    • Genet-orginal April 28, 2014

      hmm
      Good point!
I agree 100% But denden is not stupid, he is a shrewd PFDJ’s operative. Most likely, he is giving out conflicting statement on purpose, that is right! to create confusion.

  • denden April 28, 2014

    genet and hmm,
you are the ones who are telling your sisters and brother to leave the country, supplying money and instructions connecting them with smugglers then when things turned out bad you blame Isias and his generals. Those people who secretly went to look for smugglers and kept it secret even from their relatives do not know what they are planning but are happy to fall into rashaida arms and You want the government to play hide and sick with you. If someone killed your family you be foolish if you did not retaliate at the person who pulled the trigger. You are only coward for blaming Isias and his generals.Let me tell you I would like to tear dictator isias and his generals to pieces for the things they have done to our people but blaming others for things you yourself created the problem is getting you nowhere. The people are going to smugglers voluntarily knowing that they will be raped, tortured. More than that those who are leaving Eritrea want Isias and his generals to stay because that is the only excuse or reason to get protection and residence and passport in the west. Believe it if we get rid of Isias and his generals, eritreans seeking protection abroad in the west will hunt us down for getting rid of him. That’s why they always say they want change peacefully, which will never happen. you really want change there is only one way using soldiers or civil disobedience that’s what I am pushing for unlike you, where you make excuses after excuses by saying no we do not want civil war, we do not want to kill our brothers. Who is killing who in eritrea for the last 20 years isn’t that Eritrean police, security forces and soldiers. Believe it once we have civil unrest inside Eritrea the west will help us but dreaming about peaceful change it is not going to happen.

      Dear denden
I think, you care about something, but not sure what it is. From your thought process, you seems to indicate you are for change in Eritrea. However, here is the trick, what kind of change? If your stand about the fleeing Eritreans from the country they love is “shut up and take responsibility for your miserable lives”, what kind of change are you looking for?. You said, “You are only coward for blaming Isias and his generals”. Brother denden, Who is in charge of our country and our people? If you are an Eritrean, you have to know, how Eritreans feel about their country. Eritrean would never leave their country if it wasn’t about life and death situation. How do you come up with this foolish statement of “You are only coward for blaming Isias and his generals”? Do you have any idea how government works? Elected or not, transitional or official gov is supposed to take care of people within a country. Have you heard of the saying, “The buck stops at the top” A normal leader would say, THE BUCK STOPS WITH ME”, but not Isayas, because he is mentally ill.

Since you seem to be ignorant about what is happening to our people, Let me give some info.
#1 Eritrean People are actually starving to death.
#2 Young Eritreans are literally PFDJ officials’ modern day slaves.
#3 Eritreans are denied basic rule of law, (being put in prison inhumanely and indefinitely without Due process).
#4 Eritreans are working in the Eritrean mining boom as slaves.
#5 Eritrean women are raising their children as single mothers, for the first time ever in our country’s history.
#6 Eritrean children are denied proper education. We have militarized schools, making sure children are not educated
#7 Eritreans are not allowed to have freedom of movement.
#8 Eritreans are at risk of kidnapping and torture within their own country.
#9 Eritreans are under the worse dictator and mentally ill man. So they have to save themselves, even if it is risky.
#10 Eritreans adult men and women are stranded for years in the middle of the desert, away from any civil society.
Brother denden, Tell me who wants to live under this atrocious condition? Tell me, wouldn’t you risk your life to get away from this kind of life and death situation? What is the different between dying in your own country under a savage dictator and his generals vs any where else by anybody? Under the current situation, staying in Eritrea is a sure thing, an Eritrean will live in despair and die. Fleeing give people a chance of 50:50, or 25:50 still it is better than slow and 100% death. Don’t blame the Eritrean people. They are the victim of the dictator, his generals, his cadres all over the world and the zombies in diaspora who are the lifeline of the savage dictator.

You need to read your post prior to posting it. You said, you are pushing for “civil disobedience” Who are you standing with when you are doing that? You aren’t even acknowledging, who the victim is in this tragedy?
What we, you, I and everybody is unite to survive. Get our people out of the illusion they are in that Isayas cares for Eritreans. HE DOES NOT. Tell them daily what have been happening, for the past 24 years and beyond under the control of mentally ill Isayas. I don’t read from your post about strong unite of Eritreans in diaspora. How come?
      Genet

    Denden

Even Rashida is an extension of Issays’s crime network. Rashida ( they no longer herd goats) they are now a tribe of criminal nomads who were once armed and supported by Isayas to fight against Sudan until Sudan surrenderd and negotiated to start a power sharing government. So Rashaida has a direct link with PFDJ and they are free to come in and out of Eritrea as they wish. The Rashida is given a special privileges , they don’t have to serve in the national service nor pay taxes. They are given a license to kill, kidnap Eritrean kids simply because they are business partners of PFDJ and its security apparatus benefiting from the illegal human smuggling business. It is true Eritreans who pay to smuggle their family are idiots falling for the traps but that doesn’t erase the fact that the government is a willing partner. I agree with you, we have to dismantle PFDJ but I don’t want it replaced by forces working with Ethiopia that plans to crerate a divided Eritrea. What we need is a popular uprising. Let us all join the Vacaro type of movement, Vacaro should distance him selves from the power hungry wolves and make his movement a true inclusive movement engaging all Eritreans.

I never slept for three days after seeing this tragic news. Then I tried to call the numbers given to offer my condolences without success.
Then I tried to sleep and reflect on the whole tragic of things befalling on Eritreans. After a reflection, I wanted to advice the Father of the victtims to say as follows: “”Oh God, mYou gave me the children and then You took them All is yours. I curse the date of my birth. Blessed are your deeds”” After this, please solemnly read the Book of Job in the Bible, all chapters from 1 to 40 in a period of ten days, by repeating as much as possible. Believe and trust in God with all your heart and you will be releved of your grief. God bless the sould these harmless children and God give strength to the father, mother and all familes!!!!!!!!

The name ‘Mebrahtu’ is associated with light. Mr Mebrahtu I did not find any trace of light in your comment. If there was rule of law in Eritrea the cold blooded officers would not have treated the Eritrean people this cheap. Please refrain from making unsympathetic comments.
People are running away from the pfdj and their prisons. Like it or not the root cause of our tribulation is pfdj’s policy and their destructive practices. They are ruthless but we are too decent to counter their deceptive behavior.

Sincere condolences to the family again.

    • Genet-orginal April 28, 2014

      Well Mr,
You are a rotten Zombie who lost not only his moral compass, also who sold his soul to the devil. Like every Isayss’s supporters say, the PFDJ’s and Isayas gov. is not responsible. There is no point arguing with mentally ill people.
It is just sad, to see Eritreans turned in to zombies by an enemy of our country.

  • Denden April 28, 2014

    hmm,
I totally agree with the entire comment you made especially “The Rashida is given a special privileges , they don’t have to serve in the national service nor pay taxes. They are given a license to kill, kidnap Eritrean kids” Because they are not eritreans and eseyas/Hegdef knows that.Rashada have to be loyal to EPLF/HEGDEF for giving them eritrean citizen and classifying them as eritrean ethnic while abolishing the ELIT Tribe ethnic group. So Rashaida owe their existance in eritrea to EPLF/HEGDEF. Remember EPLF/HEGDEF does not have jurisdiction to add or subtract eritrean ethnic group but blame the ex-supporters of EPLF/HEGDEF and the so called opposition were always clapping, singing, dancing what ever EPLF/HEGDEF did. Any opposition does not have the jurisdiction to recognise Rashaida as eritreans. As long as they are silent on this issue no body will listen to them. The so called opposition wants to continue from where Eseyas left while the true dekebat eritrea wants to reverse and undo all those self harm and destruction done by EPLF/HEGDEF. Finally when every minister or general ask asylum in the west, people are happy and cheer at them instead of holding them responsible for their actions and bring them before international court and deny them asylum.

    Mebrahtu

Your bullshit to shift the blame away from your masters may work with some idiots in your local community center. Even those idiots are catching up now that is why the number of PFDJ loyalist is shrinking. It is a matter of time before PFDJ a criminal network corrupting our country is dismantled and dumped in the dust bin of history.

PFDJ is responsible for the current state of Eritrea, our natural resources is robbed in braod day light while our youngsters are forced to serve as slaves or flee in large numbers. The economy is shattered and our people can’t even get the basic needs like food ,water and electricity.

The good news is PFDJ is rotten to its core and it may fall out soon on its own weight. Isays is playing cat and mouse game with his old pals. He is getting rid of those he consider threats and calling it accidents. Don’t expect me to shade tears for those dead PFDJ collaborators. The smart criminals ike Ali Abdu are sneaking out.

you talked about how people are leaving Eritrea without discussing why. You even attempted to justify immigration is a normal and expected phenomenon. If Eritrean flee the country in a larger number than they did before independence, it is an indication we need a new independence. Speaking of Assena, I found him to be the most credible source of information compare to all other opposition outlets. I am not even counting ERi_TV the mouth peace of PFDJ lies.

  • hmm April 28, 2014

Denden I agree Rashida is a criminal tribe, it is absurd why GOE allowed a group of criminals roaming Eritrea. Rashida had always been involved in a slave trade of Eritrean kids ever since they arrived. Most of the victims used to children of peasants near Rashida territory. The rashida had been smuggling kids for Arabs for generation. Recently, they became very bold. When we establish a new Eritrea in the future, the first thing to do is to investigate the Rashida tribe and prosecute those involved in criminal activities. The rest will have to be given a chose to abide by the rules of the land or go back to Kuwet (since they were given passport anyway). They are also a threat in the future, because if we have trouble with Sudan they can also switch side and become our enemy, they should be relocated to the south part of Eritrea to ensure their loyalty.

    • Genet-orginal April 29, 2014

      hmm
Well, the south is all occupied, there is no room for this kind of people. I say prosecute the criminals, rehab for others, or let them loose out of Eritrea. This is not 1800.

My beloved Eritreans, why we are waiting that much. Why don’t overthrow the dictator who has been the cause of all these miseries. Please let us get united and uproot the evil-doer. Isaias must be executed!!!!

    Amanuel (Assenna)

Please give this idiot what he asks for; Make announcement to begin an armed struggle to remove PFDJ by force. You will be surprised. Many in the west including myself will join you. Most of the youngsters in Ethiopia and Sudan will join as well. The Warsai will also abandon the slavery and join. Eritreans are looking for a true leader. They are not looking for opposition leaders who want to control them with remote control. If you (Amanuel) lead the way, many will follow. We are waiting for that leader. You are the one. You have the credibility. Fire the first shot. The grumpy old men who call themselves PFDJ will die of a panic attack.
