Let me tell a true story I noticed . One day this Eritrean kid came from school angry and complained about
his skin color because he felt rejected from his surrounding .
Nowadays I observe some matured men in this forum with same reactions who are confused to understand and
preserve the rich Eritrean identities of years since our great grand fathers with false accusations .
Eritreans had never associate with Arabs , Ethiopians , Italians or British , but to speak their language
does not mean nothing as at this moment using foreign language to communicate on each other .

One thing I can’t understand is that some people blame for someone who try to speak arabic while they are using english. I call this being hypocritical at best.
I can use any language I want(if I know the language that is) – it just another medium to communicate.

    Dear Mr Tadese Kidane
On the first part of your writhing in tackling the issue of regional feeling in the Eritrean society, I felt, you down plaid this important issue. As an Eritrean, it is upsetting to me to hear from an intelligent man that regional feeling is practiced by most Eritreans. Some of your statements such as, Regional politics only benefits individuals and their close family members. Almost all of us want any leader to be from our area or from our religion affiliation. Although I have not done any scientific research on this issue, I disagree with your gross generalization. Even if regional feeling and politics is practiced by few Eritreans, the poisonous message which spewed by such practice is the most dangerous to our unity.

Even thought I disagree with your light weight criticism of regional feeling and its consequence, I admire your courage to deal with our issue of regional hate and mistrust.

On your 2nd part of your writhing, I agree with your point that information is the key concept to deal with regional feeling and politics. Yes, I agree any Eritrean regardless of our belief on this issue, we should be able to talk about it openly. You talk about the former freedom fighters, how they were free of regional feeling and politics. But don’t forget, we have former freedom fighters in diaspora exacerbating the problem of regional hate and mistrust. I wonder where they are coming from?

You did talk about the global capitalist economy and its products of world’s billionaires. I agree, world billionaires don’t care where you are from or what religion you believe in. What they care about is how they can use you and through you if it is necessary. However, president Obama the first black American president wasnt elected manly due to globalization. Rather, Years of fight and advocacy for liberty, justice and equality for all people in America. Information has been the key here. President Obama was elected by the backbone of American economy the MIDDLE CLASS. The American middle class is not happy about globalization. Because globalization took its good paying jobs away from its communities.

It is fine for any man/woman to accumulate money and wealth, as long as they don’t do it by taking advantage of their own citizens one way or another. The issue of REGIONAL FELLING AND POLITICS has to be exposed and solve to acceptable level, so, don’t lead to many disadvantage citizens in our country. It is not that hard to mold a disadvantage members of society. Currently, in our country we have already a disadvantage members of our society; The ERITREAN WOMEN are the new disadvantage people for the next 20 to 50 years. They are denied proper education indiscriminately. We need to educate all Eritreans that it is everybody’s responsibility to make sure regional feeling and politic don’t get to a toxic level. Mr Tadese Kidane, keep writhing, because we all can learn from each others. Just don’t try be politically correct about this issue.
We need to call upon the Eritreans who have conflicting feelings toward being an Eritrean. It is not normal to be for free Eritrea, yet to hate other Eritrean just because they are not from your area. It is a world class stupidity.
