Millions sacrificed themselves so tha Amanuel Tesefasilassie could have gotten their dessereved Gold With out the tittle refugee in a peacefull secured country. But done is done we have to goo for ward and congra Amanuel. Who knows you may be an inspiration for the peacefull bridge across the Mereb river!

    • mussie July 30, 2014

This is no News. Just a crap. The party spoilers, doom and gloom sayers can say whatever they want to say. Hatred has no bounds, and of course, no eyes and reason.
The haters hate even when they were given a gift they totally don’t deserve.
What has Amanuel has done to Ethiopia to study in their University? NOTHING!!!
Instead of be thankful for these people (Ethiopians), you are quick to blame them for not bestowing him the privilege of giving him an award from Mr. Hailemariam??? Lol!!!
What has the Eritrean youth done to earn privileges? It does not have even the guts to blame the right culprit. It has its spirit decapitated!!! Just watch Al-Pacino’s movie “Scent of a woman”, and you will find the mirror reflection of Eritrean dead and rotten spirit!!!

      • Eritreawit July 30, 2014

        mussie,
Where is the dead spirit? being #1 in applied maths while out in a refugee? The young man has his award already.
you will be disapointed to make Eritreans give bad names. Stop bieng hater it won’t help you.

      • TwoWayStreet July 30, 2014

The self proclaimed dead and rotten spirit Mussie, (I hope you don’t mind, me writing that),
I am with you on one thing, i.e. give credit to Ethiopia for its policy on giving a higher education chance to Eritrean refugees.

But I don’t support your other statements. Basically, you are saying Eritrean students should keep quite when the teacher gives them 80% while they got 90% in their exam, or “C” while they got “A” in their course. Just keep quite and say “I am grateful for the education you are giving me”. For me, that is a DEAD and ROTTEN SPIRIT as you call it.

Tamrat this is not peacefull bridge this shows how decisive who ever decided this. I do not see any thing which easies tension. In Sudan there alot of eritrean outstanding stundents who receive medals. In mekele also. And there are Ethiopians we got medals in usa too. What is wrong with them to deny. This smart boy?

  • Fessahaye tukue July 30, 2014

Keep it on. Amanuel. Every one knows you are the best.

  • Tesfay July 30, 2014

Amanuel should be thankful to Ethiopia for the opportunity, not complain about the award.

  • azieb habtemariam July 30, 2014

Is it morally acceptable? Can We get comment from the ministry of education (Ethiopia)?

    • TwoWayStreet July 30, 2014

It is on Assenna’s finger tips. Assenna should call 4kilo and try to post all sides of the story.
My view on your question- Morally not acceptable. But is it true, and if so Why? is Assenna’s job. At least try and say “We have tried to contact AAU but could not get a comment or something like that?

  • azieb habtemariam July 30, 2014

Congratulations, Amanuel. I wish you all the best in your future endeavor

  • M,Lemlem July 30, 2014

In my opinion, He did great job but he should be thankful getting such precious opportunity. you have to think, Many talented Eritreans end up in the endless military service in their own country, where the only University shutdown for unknown years.

  • MightyEmbasoyra July 30, 2014

You are still #1 Amanuel! Ethiopians should be ashamed by this act. Why do they allow Eritreans to attend the university, if they act like this. Is this the chancellor’s decision or by the govt? You don’t see such kind of foolish act in the USA.

    • john July 30, 2014

Mighty Emb…….You called it foolish act. Have u ever say something about what happened to Ethiopians in your country? Our family memmbers are in Eritrean prison for more than ten years. But you complain for the award. You Eritreans supposed to appreciate for the privilege he got. What a people.

      • TwoWayStreet July 30, 2014

        john,
-Don’t try to mix two or more stories. This is about Amanuel not getting his achievement award. Not about Ethiopians in Eritrea. Try to post a story regarding Ethiopians in Eritrea, and look at what my comment or Mighty’s comment will be, then you can judge on me and mighty and the like.
-Did you notice that I said “John, don’t try to mix two stories”, I did not say “People of Ethiopia, don’t try to mix…” So, don’t say “What a people” in trying to respond to one, or two or …you get the number.

    • Tesfay July 30, 2014

MightyEmbasoyra, you have to see as the government of Ethiopia. Can you imagine if they award an Eritrean instead of Ethiopian regardless of the high mark. What would be the Ethiopian people’s reaction especially the Eritrea haters. Would they be happy to see the award. Remember the Ethiopian election in less than a year.

      • TwoWayStreet July 30, 2014

        Tesfay,
        Yeah, the decision seems political.

        • Habte July 30, 2014

          TwoWayStreet
It is just your assumption you don have any proof weather it is political or not

          • ahmed saleh July 30, 2014

What is wrong with some commentators to get offended like that when we see wrong
deeds . And if you care about
            Ethiopia good reputation try
to critize them . This sort of
educators shameful and discriminatory practice only tarnish their reputation.

    • Habte July 30, 2014

      MightyEmbasoyra
First Ethiopia is not USA and don’t try to compare them
Second why should Ethiopians be ashamed; are we not grateful for they have given our brothers and sisters the chance to further their education
Third Do we know the other side of the story? why should we hurry to be judgmental
We need them to give more opportunities to our brothers and sisters who are still languishing in the refugee camp
Amanuel has got the knowledge that will open him the door for a lot of opportunities in his life and one award is not going to make any difference on his journey forward so let us not be emotional it is better to weigh the positive side too. Let us focus at this difficult time the way to get more advantage that benefits our brothers and sisters. From my point of view this award is immaterial compared to the chance our fellow brothers and sisters have been given by the government and the university’s of Ethiopia
