If Eritreans have decided to take the boldest step so far, by taking a flimsy fishing boat all the way the Red Sea, thinking they will reach the free and democratic Christian western Europe, then Eritreans must have given up on Eritrea and on themselves.

This heralds the death of the concept and entity, also known as, ERITREA!

“This heralds the death of the concept and entity, also known as, ERITREA!”

      Halafi mengedi aka Teclay

You wish bad for a country that accommodated you when you didn’t know even where you belong.
      Shame on you

Keep dreaming and continue to live in a fantasy-world!! Obviously, you have neither the courage nor the self-confidence to confront reality and the Truth. Your attempt to create a make-believe world for yourself is not only delusional, but is also the hallmark of pathetic creatures such as yourself. Happy Dreams brother!

So many are abandoning Eritrea daily. We Eritreans cannot do anything. Foreigners are disappointed that the brave and fighting people face harsh death in trying to change from inside. They flee than stuck in slavery or degraded poor life.

    First:
A sincere THANKS goes to Assenna Foundation for doing such a splendid job in discharging its professional and national responsibilities. Bravo!

    Second and the crucial point:
If Diaspora Eritreans were to have a reputable, competent and recognized Central Organization with affiliates around the Globe, run by competent and dedicated professional Eritrean scholars such a news item would have been brought immediately to the attention of the UN; to African Union; to Humanitarian Organizations; to other international organizations; and to Sudanese Embassies around the Globe ……….
    Am I dreaming?

    NEFAHITO in ASSENNA FORUM
” Eritreans must have given up on Eritrea and themselves ” .
It isn’t new to us to flee the country for reason of safety or in desperate situation
for better life . But that doesn’t mean we gave up our national identity .
Let me open your eyes . You better realize that no one except yourself is your
own enemy . Your nonsense stupid words looks to find a fool to mind you .
What good does it bring falsehood , contradiction , pen names duplicity to
conceal and disguise like a ghost of dead person into yourself . Wake up !

What the heck is going with Eritrean society? We are considered less than a normal human being. Everyone is treating us like no one and we keep accepting it.
What happened to all that heroism? Are we morally bankrupt and we are turned into a bunch of cowards collectively?

  • Wedi Sengal May 20, 2015

In personal life, we all know that people who live beyond their means end up broken.
It is also the same for countries and poor Eritrea is a good example of that broken society and nation.
PFDJ thugs lost quarter of a century fighting Ethiopia, demonizing America, badmouthing African leaders
because of ignorance and arrogance, and now the poor people are paying the heavy price for the wild madness.

When we reach the point where we are damned if we do and damned if we don’t, it is the sign that all roads have merged into one and that we have reached the edge of the existential cliff.

People are that make a society, people that make society also develop a good government that governs them. The Eritrean society have failed to form a government that they could own it – a government that administer their demands and make them live at peace with themselves and with all their neighbours.

  • Simon G. May 20, 2015

Eritrea is damaged but not broken. It will rise and stand up again and it will make history. By that time, HGDF will not only eliminated but forgotten.

  • Hagherawi May 20, 2015

“Eritrea is damaged but not broken. It will rise and stand up again and it will make history. By that time, HGDF will not only eliminated but forgotten.”

    Simon G

    Thank you brother Simon,

Let’s reject the demoralizing comments that are injected by some irresponsible elements in our discussions. They are doing it purposely, and we either keep silent or add to it ourselves, as if it’s going to do some good to our cause.
It’s true the country is ruled by a “shifta government” and we are paying very heavy price for trusting them and keeping silent when “others” used to suffer in front of our eyes. But please don’t allow anyone to break your spirit, insult your country and people.

I am stating the obvious, but allow me to write them here, just a reminder:

    – Unless we regain self confidence (We can do it !!), we may not be able to do anything (which is not an option.)

    – Let’s start by taking our share of the blame, it gives us the humility we need to confront the difficult times we are going through. We tend to blame others, while we forget that we are the ones who created the monster we have at home. We raised him to the level of God, and he internalized it.

    – We have to organize our selves without excluding anyone. There isn’t any way a particular group can benefit or lose alone, no matter what. We are all on the same boat.
Let’s fight against indifference which is one of the evils that are destroying our nation.

    – We need to put our resources and energies together (every one important). Individual efforts and contributions are good but give more value only when utilized in the specific domain of his/her work.

    – We need to stand shoulder to shoulder even with those who may not agree with us on everything.
Because unity is power, it can do miracles. Guns are the least needed at this stage.
We need to realize that only unity and hard work will save our country.

    – Time lost in doing nothing, will take the country further down from where it’s now.
Get involved in any activity that takes place in your city and push for unity.

      Brother Nationalist,
You have raised great questions. Some comments may not be intentional but could be from losing hope (some of my comments are like that), even though some of them are deliberately here to belittle us. Their points could not be far from the truth but it is very hard to swallow. Let’s take that an encouragement to fight back!
As we all know, we are here in this position because we are not united (I think almost everyone knows this). However, our difficulty is how to fix it. Why? Because we are not addressing the root cause on why we are not united to begin with. One example I can think of: you don’t say to a person a regionalist when you are the regionalist yourself. Isn’t that irony. How can you expect to unite if you are insulting him? I see this almost on a daily basis. We all not need to be in one umbrella but we can all work against one enemy. We should learn to do that. Then, after we hit our target, the constitution will fix our problem.
