አብ ጉዕዞ ብረታዊ ቃልሰይ፡ ስዉእ ተጋዳላይ ወልደዳዊት ተመስገንን ስዉእ ተጋዳላይ መልኣከ ተኽለን ካብቶም ብቖራጽነቶምን ብናይ ሃገሮምን ህዝቦምን ፍቕሪ ዝተሰነየ ጀብሃዊ እምነቶም ዘደንቑኒ ዝነበሩ ውሑዳት ተጋደልቲ ተጋድሎ ሓርነት ኤርትራ እዮም፡፡
ኣብዚ ናይ ሎሚ ጽሑፈይ ብዛዕባ ስዉእ ተጋዳላይ ወልደዳዊት ተመስገን እየ ክገልጽ፡፡ ኣብ መጻኢ እዋን ክኣ ምስ ብጻይ ተጋዳላይ መልኣከ ተኽለ ዘሕለፍኩዎ ጊዜን ዕላላትን ከካፍለደኩም እየ፡፡
ንስዉእ ተጋዳላይ ወልደዳዊት ተመስገን፡ መብዛሕትኡ እቲ ኣብ ተጋድሎ ሓርነት ኤርትራ ዝነበረ ኣባል ይፈልጦ እዩ እንተበልኩ ዝተጋነነ ኣይመስለንን፡፡ እቲ ኣፈላልጣ ዝብሃል ግን ዝተፈላለየ ምዃኑ ዘየጠራጥር እዩ፡፡
ስለምንታይ ሎሚ ብዛዕባ ስዉእ ተጋዳላይ ወልደዳዊት ተመስገን ክዛረብ መሪጸ ንዝብል ሕቶ፡ ሎሚ ቕነ ደቡብ ኣፍሪቃዊ ተጋዳላይን መራሕን ኣቶ ነልሰን ማነደላ ስለ ዝዓረፈ ታሪኹ ብኹለን ማዕከናት ዜና ዓለም ይግለጽ ኣሎ፡፡ ሓደ ካብቲ መግለጺታት ናይ ታሪኹ እተን 27 ዓመታት ኣብ በት ማእሰርቲ ዘሕለፈን ዓመታት እየን፡፡
እምብኣር ስዉእ ተጋዳላይ ወልደዳዊት ተመስገን ሓደ ካብቶም ውሑዳት ኤርተራዊያን ምእንቲ ሃገሮምን ህዝቦምን ን10 ዓመት ዝኣክል ኣብ ቤት ማእሰርቲ ጸላኢ ብስቅያት ጊዚኡ ዘሕለፈ ጅግና ተጋዳላይ እዩ፡፡ በዚ ምኽንያት ኽኣ እየ፡ ዋላኳ ሳላ ጀጋኑ ተጋደልቲ ጀብሃ እቲ ናይ ማእሰርቱ ጊዚኡ ን10 ዓመት እንተ ሓጸረ፡ ጸላእስ ካብቲ ናይ ማንደላ ዝነውሔ ማእሰርቲ እዩ መዲቡሉ ነይሩ፡፡
ስዉእ ተጋዳላይ ወልደዳዊት ተመስገን እቲ ኣብቲ ናይ መጀመርታ ሱሳታት ናይ መጀመርታ ናይ ተመሃሮ ምንቅስቓስ መራሒ ኮይኑ፡ ንተመሃሮ ኤርተራ ብጉዳይ ናጽነት ሃገሮም ክግደሱን ክቃለሱን ዝገበረ፡ ጅግናን በሊሕን ኤርትራዊ እዩ፡፡ ሓደ ካብቶም ተመሃሮ ንመሪሕነት ስዉእ ተጋዳላይ ወልደዳዊት ተመስገን ኣኽቢሩ ዝኸይድ ዝነበረ ተመሃራይ ክኣ ኢሳያስ ኣፈወርቂ ይብሃል፡፡
ስዉእ ተጋዳላይ ወልደዳዊት ተመስገን መራሒ ምንቅስቓስ ጥራሕ ዘይኮነስ ብትምህርቱ ካብቶም ምሩጻት ተመሃሮ ልኡል መኮነን ስለ ዝነበረ ንቤት ትምህርቲ ልኡል መኮነን ወኪሉ ኣብ ዓውደ ክትዕ፡ ኣብ YMCA ብምስታፍ ብዙሕ ዓወታት ንቤት ትምህርቲ ልኡል መኮነን አመዝጊቡ እዩ፡፡
ስዉእ ተጋዳላይ ወልደዳዊት ተመስገን ከምቶም ትምህርቶም ኣብ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ምቕጻል ዝመረጹ መማህርቱ ኣብ ክንዲ ዝመርጽ፡ ምስ ክፋል ጎኑ ዝኾነ ጅግና ስዉእ ተጋዳላይ ስዩም ዑቕባንኪኤል ኣብ 1964 ንሜዳ ወጺኡ ምእንቲ ህዝቡን ሃገሩን ክቃለስ መረጸ፡፡ ከምቲ ስዉእ ተጋዳላይ ወልደዳዊት ተመስገን ዘዕለለኒ፡ ምስ ስዉእ ተጋዳላይ ስዩም ዑቕባንኪኤል ንሜዳ ክብገሱ ከለዉ ንኢሳያስ ኣፈወርቂ ምሳና ንዓናይ ምስ በልዎ ግደፉና ትምህርትና ክንቅጽል ኢና ኢሉ ከም ዝኣበዮም ይገልጽ፡፡
ስዉእ ተጋዳላይ ወልደዳዊት ተመስገን ካብ ሓንቲ ድኻ ስድራቤት ተወሊዱ ብፍላይ ኣዲኡ ከምቲ ኩሉ ስድራቤት ኤርተራ ወደን ትምህርቱ ወዲኡ ክሕግዘን እንዳተጸበያ እንከለዋ ጠንጢኑወን ንሜዳ ምኻዱ ክሳብ ክንደይ ናይ ሃገሩን ናይ ህዝቡን ሕቶ (እሞ ኽኣ ኣብ 1964 ዓ.ም) ልዕሊ ናይ ስድርኡ ሕቶ ቦታ ሂቡ ይጉዓዝ ምንባሩ እዩ ዝርኣየኒ፡፡ ብ1976 ኣማሓዳሪ ምምሕዳር ቁ 9 (ኣውራጃ ሰራየ) ኣብ ዝነበረሉ እዋን ኣዲኡ ንመጀመርያ ጊዜ ክበጽሕኦ ኢለን ምስ መጻ፡ ርሑቕ እዩ ዘሎ በልዋ ኢሉ ከም ዝመለሰን ምስ ሰማዕኩ፡ ጉህየ ናብቲ ዝነበሮ ቦታ ከይደ ‘ወልደዳዊት ክንደይ ትጭክን፡ ኣዴኻ ድሕሪ ክንደይ ዓመታት ወደን ክርእያ መጺኤን ዋላ ናይ ሓደ ስዓት ናፍቖተን ከውጽኣ ዕድል ዘይምሃብካ ተጋጊኻ’ እብሎ፡፡ መልሱ ኽኣ፡ ‘ሰመረ ትብሎ ዘለኻ ይርድኣኒ እዩ ግን ኣደይ ካብቲ ካልእ ስድራቤት ኣይትበልጽን እያ’ ትብል ነበረት፡፡
ኣፍልጦይ ምስ ስዉእ ተጋዳላይ ወልደዳዊት ተመስገን፡፡
ስዉእ ተጋዳላይ ወልደዳዊት ተመስገን ኣብ ሰምበል ዝብሃል ቤት ማእሰርቲ ከሎ ቁሩብ ወረ ነይሩኒ፡፡ እቲ ወረ ካብ ኣቦይ (ወላድየይ) ዝረኸብኩዎ ምሉእ ዘይኮነ ወረ እዩ ነይሩ፡፡ ማለት ኣቦይ (ተጋዳላይ ጀብሃ ዝነበረ፡ ፍስሃየ ኩብሮም) ኣብ ቤት ማእሰርቲ ናይ ኤርትራ ወተሃደር ስለ ዝነበረ ብዛዕባ ምንቅስቓሳት ስዉእ ተጋዳላይ ወልደዳዊት ተመስገን ኣብ ውሽጢ ቤት ማእሰርቲ ሰምበል ቁሩብ ይጠቕሰለይ ነይሩ፡፡
ብድሕርዚ ቁሩብ ኣፍልጦ’ዚ ምስ ስዉእ ተጋዳላይ ወልደዳዊት ተመስገን ንመጀመርታ ጊዜ ብኣካል ኣብ ዓዲንኣምን፡ ኣብቲ መጀመርታ 1975 ተራኺብና፡፡ ኣብቲ ግዜቲ ካብ ቤት ማእሰርቲ ወጺኡ ንኹሉ ዝቐረቦ ሰብ ሰላም ይብል ነበረ፡፡ ኣነ ኽኣ ከም ሰበይ ሰላም በልኩዎ፡፡
ቀጺልና ኣብቲ ርበዳ ዝተባህለ ቦታ ዝነበረ መደበራት ታዕሊም፡ ምስቲ ምቅርራብ ካልኣይ ሃገራዊ ጉባኤ ናይ ተጋድሎ ሓርነት ኤርትራ ዝተሓሓዝ፡ ዘይህዱእ ኩነታት ነበረ፡፡ እዚ ዘይህዱእ ኩነታት ዝፈጠሩ ኽኣ ገለ ኣባላት መራሕቲ ውድብ ስለ ዝነበሩ ኩነታት ውድብ ኣብ ሕማቕ ገጹ ንኸይከይድ ዘስግኦም ብጾት፡ ከመ ብዓል ስዉእ ተጋዳላይ ወልደዳዊት ተመስገን ከምኡ’ውን ስዉእ ተጋዳላይ ስዩም ዑቕባሚካኤል ኣብኡ ብምምጻእ ንኽሰምዕዎም ዝኽእሉ ሰባት እንዳተራኸቡ ጉዓዞ ቃልሲ ቀሊል ከምዘይኮነ፡ ካብ ምድንጋር ንኽንድሕን ዘድሊ ዝብልዎ ማዕዳታት ኣብ ዝህቡሉ ዝነበሩ ንኻልኣይ ግዜ ተራኸብና፡፡
ድሕሪ ናይ ርብዳ ርክብ፡ ከይደንጎና ካልኣይ ሃገራዊ ጉባኤ ተጋድሎ ሓርነት ኤርትራ ስለ ዝኣኸለ ኣብኡ ንኽሳተፍ ክኣ ተመሪጸ ስለ ዝነብርኩ፡ ኣብዚ ጉባኤዚ እንደገና ንራኸብ፡፡ ውጺኢት ጉባኤ ዋላኳ ዕዉት እንተነበረ ኣብቲ ውሽጠ ውሽጢ ዝካየድ ዝነበረ ሕሹኽሹኽ ንኽርድኣኒ ቀሊል ኣይነበረን፡፡ ኣብቲ ግዜ’ቲ ክቐርቦም ዝኽእል ብቐረባ ተጋደልቲ፡ ተጋዳላይ ፍስሃየ ገብረሚካኤል (ኣባል ሰውራዊ ባይቶ ኮይኑ ዝተመርጸ) ካብ መባእታዊ ትምህርትና ክሳብ ኣብ ሃይለ ስላሴ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ብሓደ ዝነበርና ከምኡ’ውን ስዉእ ተጋዳላይ መልኣከ ተኽለን እዮም ነይሮም፡፡
ድሕሪ ካልኣይ ሃገራዊ ጉባኤ ኣብ ዓልየት (ታሕታይ ባርካ) ሓድሽ ቤት ትምህርቲ ንናይ ፖለቲካ ካድራት ምስልጣን ተኸፊቱ ናይ ገለ ኣዋርሕ ትምህርቲ ድሕሪ ምክያድ ምስ ገለ ብጾተይ ናብ ምምሕዳር ቁ.9 ተመዲበ እኸይድ፡፡ ኣማሓዳሪ ምምሕዳር ቁ.9 ስዉእ ተጋዳላይ ወልደዳዊት ተመስገን ስለ ዝነበረ፡ እቲ ኣገዳሲ ኣፍልጦይ ብዛዕባ ብጻይ ወልደዳዊት ኣብዚ ይጅምር፡፡
ከምቲ ኣብ ላዕሊ ዝጠቐስኩዎ ስዉእ ተጋዳላይ ወልደዳዊት ተመስገን ኣማሓዳሪ ኮይኑ ዘርእዮ ዝነበረ ናይ ኣመሓዳድራ ብቕዓት፡ ግደፍዶ ሓደ ኣብ ቤት ማእሰርቲ ን10 ዓመት ዝተሳቐየ ሰብ፡ እሞ ኽኣ ቅድሚ ምእሳሩ ናይ ህዝብን ሰራዊትን ምምሕዳር ተመኩሮ ዘይነበሮስ፡ ሓደ ናይ ምምሕዳር ትምህርቲ ካብ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ብዝልዓለ ዲግሪ ዝተመረቐ ሰብ ከርእዮ ይኽእልዩ ንኽትብሎ ዘጸግመካ ኣመሓዳድራ የርኢ ነበረ፡፡
ነዚ ንምግላጽ ኩነታት ምምሕዳር ቁ9 ንርአ፡፡
- ምምሕዳር ቁ9 እታ ካብተን 12 ክፍሊ ምምሕዳራት ዝጽዓቐ ተቐማጢ ህዝቢ ዝነበራ ክፍሊ ምምሕዳር እያ፡፡ ስለዚ ገድሊ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ብፍላይ ክኣ ተ.ሓ.ኤ ምስቲ ህዝቢ ዘሎዎ ዝምድና ከይደክም ብዝያዳ ኽኣ ክድንፍዕ ንምግባር፡ በብቦትኡ ከድምዑ ይኽእሉ እዮም ዝበሎም ተጋደልቲ ከም ብዓል ገብረ ክርሰቶሰ ጽገ፡ ፍቕረማርያ ወዘተ ብምውፋር፡ ብኻልእ ሸነኽ ክኣ ባዕሉ፡ ሎምስ ቁሩብ ከዕርፍ ከይበለ፡ ኣብ ህዝብን ሰራዊትን ለይትን ምዓልትን እንዳተንቀሳቐሰ የዋፍረሉን ይዋፈረሉን ስለ ዝነበረ እዩ፡፡
- ምምሕዳር ቁ9 እታ ካብተን ናይ ከበሳ ክፍሊ ምምሕዳራት ዝበዝሐ ሰራዊት ዝነበራ ክፍሊ ምምሕዳር እያ፡፡ እዚ ዝኾነሉ ምኽንያት ክኣ፡ ጸላኢ ኣብ ድባርዋ፡ መንደፈራ፡ ዓዲዃላ፡ ቁሓይን ስለ ዝነበረ እዩ፡፡ ስለዚ ነዚ ብዝሒ ሰራዊት’ዚ ምምሕዳር ቀሊል ነገር ኣይነበረን፡፡ ምኽንያቱ ብሰንኪ ፋሉላዊ ምንቅስቓስ፡ ኣብ መንጎ ገዳይም ተጋደልትን ሓደስቲ ተጋደልትን ብዙሕ ጸገማት እዩ ዝፍጠር ነይሩ፡፡ ብዘይ ምግናን ብመንፍዓት ስዉእ ተጋዳላይ ወልደዳዊት፡ ምንቅስቓስ ፋሉል፡ ኣብ ምምሕዳር ቁ9፡ ቅድሚ ኩለን ተ.ሓ.ኤ. ዝነበረትለን ክፍሊ ምምሕዳራት ክሃድእ ኪኢሉ፡፡
- ኣርሒቕካ ናይ ምጥማት ዓቕምታቱ ሰፊሕ ስለ ዝነበረ፡ ካብ ባርካ ዝመጽእ፡ ንሰራዚት ዝኸውን ስንቂ፡ ከም ጸብሒ ዝኣመሰለ፡ ከቋርጽ ይኽእልዩ ብምባል፡ ንሓረስቶት ብርስን ዝርኡሞ ንሕና ክንገዝኣልኩም ኢና ብምባል፡ ነቲ ናይ ጸብሒ ሽግር ኣብ ሓይልታት የቃልሎ ነበረ፡፡
- ኣብቲ መጀመርታ 1976 ናይ ክዳውንቲ ሽግር ኣብ ሰራዊት ተ.ሐ.ኤ ብፍላይ ክኣ ኣብ ከበሳ ዝነበራ ሓይልታት ኣጋጢሙ ስለ ዝነበረ፡ ካብ ትግራይ ዓለባታት ብምግዛእ ብበላይ ዝተባህለ ሰፋይ ክዳን ኣስፍዩ ኩሉ ኣባል ሓይልታት ሰራዊት ናይ ምምሕዳር ቁ.9 ከምዝኽደን ገበረ፡፡
- ስንቅን ክዳንን ንኽገዝእ ዘብቅዖ ዓቕሚ ገንዘብ ካብይ ይመጽእ እንተተባህለ፡ ኣመሓደርቲ ይኹኑ ወከልቲ ቤት ጽሕፈታት ዝተወሰነ ገነዘብ መወገኒ ተባሂሉ ይወሃቦም ነይሩ፡፡ ካብዚ ገንዘብ እዚ እምብኣርዩ ኣዋሊዱ ንጸብሕን ክዳንን ሓይልታት ክዓጹ ዘብቅዖ ዝነበረ፡፡ ብዙሓት ተጋደልቲ ንዕረፍቲ ኢሎም ምስ መጹ ንስድራና ዝኸውን ሓገዝ ሃበና ኢሎም ይሓቱ ስለ ዝነበሩ የብለይን ካብ ሓይልታትኩም ክትወስዱ እዩ ዝግብኣኩም ስለ ዝብሎም ዝነበረ፡ ብዙሓት ተጋደልቲ ከማርርዎ እሰምዕ ነይረ፡፡
- ኣብ መንጎ 1975ን 1976ን፡ ኣብ ምምሕዳር ቁ9 ነካይዶ ዝነበርና ውግኣት፡ ብዙሕ መስዋእትን መቑስለትን ኣብ ሓይልታት ስለ ዝፈጠረ፡ ስዉእ ተጋዳላይ ወልደዳዊት ንመሪሕነት ብፍላይ ክኣ ንወተሃደራዊ ቤት ጽሕፈት ሰራዊት መልኡልና፡ ሓይልታት ጥርሐን ተሪፈን ኢሉ መልእኽቲ ምስ ኣመሓላለፈ፡ ናይ ሰራዊት ሽግር ኣብ ኩሉ እዩ ዘሎ፡ ዝብል መልሲ ሃብዎ፡፡ ንሱ ግን በሊሕ ስለ ዝነበረ፡ በሉ ሰራዊት የለን ካብ በልኩም፡ ኣብዚ ኣሰሊፍና ሽግርና ክንፈትሕ ፍቓድ ሃቡና ኢሉ ርኢቶን ሕቶን የቕርብ፡፡ መጨረስትኡ አፍቂድናልካ ዝብል መልሲ ይረክብ፡፡ ነቲ መደበር ታዕሊም ኣዳልየ ከመሓድሮ ሓላፍነት ይውሃበኒ፡፡ እቲ ዘድሊ ምድላዋት ድሕሪ ምግባረይ ነቲ ዝተመደበ ብዝሒ ሰራዊት ድሕሪ ምስላፍ፡ ወተሃደራዊ ትምህርቶም ወዲኦም ኣብ ሓይልታት ክንምድቦም ምስ ተዳሎና፡ ሃንደበት ዘይተጸበናዮ ‘ሕጊ ውድብ ኩሉ ወተሃደራዊ ትምህርቲ ኣብ መደበር ሳሕል ክኸውን ኣለዎ ስለ ዝብል፡ እንደገና ንሳሕል ወሪዶም ወተሃደራዊ ትምህርቶም ይፈጽሙ’ ይብሃል፡፡ ካብ ሕጊ ውድብ ኣይንወጽእን ብምባል ንሓደስቲ ተጋደልቲ የዕጊብና ንሳሕል ነፋንዎም፡፡ ምስቲ ዝነበረ ፋሉላዊ ኩነታት፡ ግሩሃት ሐደስቲ ተጋደልቲ ኣብ ከባቢ ሳሕል ምስ በጽሑ፡ ብዒራቓውያን ዓለምቲ ገይሮም ኣብ ሽግር ክድርብዩኹም እዮም ዝብል ጉጉይ ሓበሬታ ሂቦም ስለ ዘታለልዎም፡ ዳርጋ ኩሎም ንኸበሳ ተመሊሶም፡፡ ሓደ ካብቲ ዘሕዝን ነገር ክኣ ኣብዚ ኣውሮጳ ኣብ ሓደ ቦታ ከይደስ፡ ሓደ ተጋዳላይ ተ.ሐ.ኤ ዝነበረ ሰብ፡ ከምዚ ዝስዕብ ወረ ክህብ ሰማዕኩዎ፡ ‘ወልደዳት ዝብሃል ኣማሓዳሪ ቁ.9 ዝነበረ ኣብ 1976 ሓይሉ ንኸደልድል ኣብቲ ምምሕዳሩ ደቂ ዓዱ ከሰልፍ ፈቲኑ ግን ኣይሰለጦን’ ይብል፡፡ ብወገነይ ብዙሕ ጓሂ ተሰሚዑኒ፡፡ ነዕኡ ይኹን ነቶም ዝሕብሮም ዝነበረ ሰባት ከመይ ኢሉ እቲ መደብ ከም ዝተበገሰን ኣነ ሓለፊኡ ምንባረይን ድሕሪ ምግላጽ ተራዳዲእና ተፈላለና፡፡
- ከም ኣመሓዳሪ መጠን ጸብጻባት ናብ ኩለን ቤት ጽሕፈታት የመሓላልፍ ነበረ፡፡ እቲ ዘገርመኒ ዝነበረ ግን፡ ጸብጻብ ምምሕልላፉ ዘይኮነስ፡ ነቶም ትግርኛ ዝርድኡ መራሕቲ ብትግርኛ፡ ነቶም ዓረብ ዝርድኡ ኽኣ ብዓረብ ጺሒፉ ይልእከሎም ምምባሩ እዩ፡፡ ሓደ ግዜ ኮፍ ኢልና እንዳ የዕለልና፡ ወልዴ እዛ ቋንቋ ዓረብስ፡ ምዝራብሲ ሕራይ እቲ ምጽሓፍስ ካበይ ኣምጺእካዮ እብሎ፡፡ ስሙር ኣብ ቤት ማእሰርቲ ከሎኹ ብቓልስና ኣይድቅስን እየ ነይረ፡፡ ቋንቋ ዓረብ ምዝራብ፡ ምምባብ፡ ምጽሓፍ ከም መደብ ወሲደ ይቃለሶ ነይረ ይብል፡፡ ‘ኣብ ቤት ማእሰርቲ ትምህርቲ ነይርኩም ማለት ድዩ’ እብሎ፡፡ ኣይኮነን፡ ቁርኣን ስለ ዝነበረ፡ በቲ ቁርኣን ገይረ እምሃር ነይረ ይብለኒ፡፡ እዚ ኽኣ ሐደ ካብቲ ናይ ሃገሩን ህዝቡን ዝነበሮ ሓያል ፍቕሪ መዐቀኒ ኮይኑ እረኽቦ ነይረ፡፡

I was attracted to start reading the article just by the name of W/Dawit. In less than a minute of my reading the writer claimed that welde Dawit and Syoum had asked Isayas if he was willing to join them going to the field and Isayas refused and excused to continue his education, that turned me off reading further and I switched to write this comment. First of all why should people believe the story as it is? Second what is wrong if Isayas did not want to go at that time or he was not ready to go so what. No matter what you had to say below, had I read further, you were clumsy in the beginning of your story so you failed even before you start? After all welde dawit is a martyr like the hundreds of thousands but the problem is now that dictatorship prevails.

I was with EPLF when Isaias was conducting a malicious smear campain against W/Dawit(W/D). At that time I did not know W/D. I cannot, in my good conscience, repeat what was being said about W/D. But I was sure that what was being said was false. The things that were communicated to us were not doable in Eritrean culture. However, some fighters were swearing to kill W/D. I naively asked to verify the info before accepting it as fact. That got me in big trouble. Brother Semere, thank you for telling the story of this dedicated tegadalai. To all former tegdelti, please tell us about any tegadalai that showed heroism and dedication in gedli, but did not make it to see independent Eritrea.

(5) Exculpating Jebha
For many in the opposition of the Jebha mold, the crisis in Shaebia is all they needed to make a full time job out of rehabilitating Jebha and some of its dubious heroes. But this sounds more hypocritical than the Highdefites’ task of defending Shaebia because, while the Jebha defenders do want us to remember all the atrocities committed by Shaebia, they do not want us to remember even a single event that seems to mar the image of Jebha. All this despite the fact that this organization, throughout its history, has inhabited the worst of two worlds: although it emulated Shaebia in almost all its failings, it lacked the focus the latter displayed in fighting the enemy.
But if there is anything that defines Jebha aptly, it is its sectarianism. This is an organization that was born out of sectarian motives, with ethnic and religious overtones; lived throughout its existence in sectarian squabbles (religious, regional, ethnic, linguistic and ideological); and understandably died as a result of its sectarian malaise. Its only half-hearted effort to reform itself in the 70’s soon floundered because it was never able to distance itself from its sectarian past, all along having been unwilling to let go the sectarian leaders of its past. No wonder that in its ashes, the Jebha factions that have survived it have now neatly aligned themselves along the very fault lines that doomed it to self-destruction. Only now, having come out of their respective closet, they openly wear their religious and ethnic hats all the way to their EDA meetings.
The contradictions that Jebha supporters display could be seen everywhere: They have been diligently digging up all the skeletons they can find in Shaebia’s past (as it should be). But if you point to similar cases in Jebha – Falul, Suriyet Addis, Menfere, Rasai, and all other pre- and post-Adboha massacres. – they throw tantrums. They love to criticize Isaias for every blunder that he makes and for every crime that he commits (again, as it should be). But not only do they not want to hear any negative attribution about their leaders, however inept, undemocratic, sectarian or murderous they were, they also are in the active business of giving them a post-mortem “make over.” They never tire of reminding us of the marginalization of Kunamas under Shaebia (again, as it should be). But if you tell them that in this marginalization, which has a long history behind it, Jebha played a major role, with many of their villages burned down to the ground, many Kunamas killed and their cattle pillaged, they go nuts in anger. Day and night, they never tire of pointing out the inhumane treatment of prisoners under the hands of Shaebia/PFDJ (again, as it should be). But it is in one of the most shameful history of ghedli in Eritrea that Jebha summarily executed its Ethiopian prisoners at a time of its retreat in the late seventies. In this regard, even Shaebia didn’t match this atrocity. I could go on and on: the horrors of giffa (which actually started with Jebha), sexual abuse of women (especially by corrupt cadres and military leaders), endemic corruption of the leadership, etc – all areas that Jebha had excelled well before Shaebia came to be fully identified with them.

W/dawit is a martyr like thousands other nationalists and I respect that but I will like to comment on some of your points.you said IA was propagating against W/Dawit by Falul the so called physical members of ELF but hidden members of EPLF. I know you were a cadre in region no.9 but I wonder where you were all these years because time has shown who was the real ELF and who was not.Can you give me a number of how many Faluls turned to be EPLF(who have aligned themselves at that time or later). How many cadres like you have aligned themselves with the regime lately. Bezeben Webbe zetsememes Webbe kebil nebere. It is a travesty of history that you still see and understand things backwardly. All the people you are calling Falul have faced martyrdom in what they believed, they didn’t run away from it and never were just physical members of ELF.

We know woldedawit was like a noble amhara always covered in white gabbi (no mother or father could have afforede such gabbi)driving his volks wagen from Bar momona to Balabista; basically he did fough for Eritrea but he was no no no much to Nelson Mandela nor is he a towering figure in Eritrea either.
